Making traditional Hungarian motifs modern
My Story
I grew up in a Hungarian household in Argentina, where Hungarian embroidered items could be found in each corner of the house. From tablecloths, napkins, pillows to fabric pieces hanging as captivating works of art.
A particular vivid memory etched in my mind, is this large, embroidered masterpiece that graces out our living room. Embroidered by my mother, it was beyond my comprehension how she had created it.
Hungarian Motifs
Most of the works I do, follow the patterns of the typical Hungarian motives from the region of Kalocsa of Matyó.
I take the classic floral patterns and mix them with a modern style, resulting in a unique type of Hungarian embroidery.
